Publish Your Very Own Journal - in a Day!
Have you always wanted to have your own journal?
How about a workbook to compliment your course, programme or methodology?

Because creating all of these things is way easier than you probably thought it was… once you know how. And I will teach you how.

Canva is an amazing free tool that you can use to simply and effectively create layouts and cover designs. Yes, there's a paid version, but you don't need it to be able to use it for creating book manuscripts and covers unless you want the extra stock images and fonts that the paid version gives you.

Using Canva and KDP is a brilliant way to get books, workbooks, and journals out into the world with no upfront printing costs.

And you can use it for journals - and notebooks, or workbooks, or pretty much anything you can put your mind to. Not only does that mean that you can now get affordable, short print run copies of an actual, physical book to share with your clients but you can also - if you want to - make them available to buy across the whole Amazon marketplace.

Any book over 24 pages can be published this way.

Back in 2021 I created a course teaching you how to do it, along with tutorial videos and Canva templates to make it really, really easy.

That is still a standalone course that anyone can buy at any time, but we all know how much better we all do when we're being held accountable, so here comes the mad bit.

I'm going to help you to do it all, in one day.

On Thursday 23rd May 2024 between the hours of 9:30am and 15:00pm GMT we will be laying out, designing, proofing and yes, publishing, journals in one day.

You will get full access to the course the moment you sign up - so you can get as much of a head start as you want. The more the better, obviously.

You also get access to a pop-up Facebook group where you will get access to me and to everyone else joining this mad-dash day for support, encouragement and accountability throughout the run-up to the day - and for a few days afterwards. 
 
Then on the day itself, I am going to be live on Zoom all day to help troubleshoot, inspire and do everything I humanly can to get you over that line and published. 
 
By the end of it, as long as you do the work, you will have a journal in review by Amazon*. 
 
Not only that but you will have lifetime access to the course, including all the templates so you can repeat the process anytime you like! For as many books as you like. 
 
*The Amazon review process can take up to 72 hours. Sorry - that bit I can't control. But once it's done you are live and for sale. 
Who is this for?

This programme will work for anyone that has a process that people progress through, that can be mapped out and followed in a journal - or workbook - or notebook - format. You know your stuff, so you tell me, is that you? 

There are a few other pre-requisits.

You must:

Have an Amazon account. 

Have a Canva account and have at least a small understanding of how Canva works (your account doesn’t have to be a paid one).

Be able to join us for as much of the day as possible on 21st November 2023.

A few FAQs:


Can I sign up if I’m not available on that day?

Yes. We will give you access to our pop-up Facebook group as soon as you purchase. That way you can get started before the day and get some support if you need it.

I don't think I need support. Do I have to do it with the group and on the day?
Not at all! You can purchase the course only and go through the training without having to be part of the Facebook group or join the Zoom on the day.

Can you design a bespoke template for me, or do all the design work for me?

No. This is a DIY course. Standard templates will be provided and Canva tutorials are included. I'll give feedback, guidance and encouragement, but you're doing the work.


Do I need branding or business imagery to do this programme?

In an ideal world, yes. For most people, a journal is just one part of your brand offering and it's important that all aspects of your brand have a coherent look and feel. However you can also do a standalone journal, or you can use what you create here as a starting point for future brand offers. There's no absolute rule on that one. Your business, your call.


Can I use this process for a workbook or an e-book?

Yes, but you may not get it done in a day. Journals are quite easy to write when you get down to it because there are usually repeated sections and plenty of space for the end-user to fill in. If you have different content for every day and varied page layouts throughout your book, the design and layout stage will take a lot longer than the few hours we allow as part of this programme, and training in those aspects of design are not included. However, we would get you well and truly on your way with it.
